The year 2012 has certainly been a life-altering year for Psy. The man who horse-danced his way around the world to becoming the most-watched YouTube video in history with his comical music video, “Gangnam Style,” was placed in the No. 5 spot on CNN’s top celebrity news of the year.
Psy’s music video launched him into the realm of global superstardom landing him on the cover of Billboard Magazine and in headlines across the world. Along with being named one of the top celebrity news stories of the year, the rapper was also named No. 8 on CNN’s list of Most Intriguing People of 2012.
In a survey done by Gallup Korea, the singer was chosen as the most popular South Korean musician of the year. Psy was the first Korean ever to reach the top spot on the U.K. Singles Top 100 and No. 2 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart.
