Actor Jang Keun-suk has received a "Jang Keun-suk Bus" to commemorate the 20th anniversary of his debut, his agency said on Wednesday.
Since his debut in 1992 as a child model, hallyu star Jang has emerged as a leader representing the Korean Wave in Japan and elsewhere. To celebrate the anniversary, Japanese fans prepared a surprise gift -- a bus with congratulatory remarks.
“People in South Korea, we are regaining our strength due to so much support from the last massive earthquake,”Jang fans said. “We send sincere gratitude,” they said conveying a message reflecting appreciation for the support to recover from last year’s massive earthquake.
“With the fans’ events and huge love, my heart became warm enough to forget about the cold weather,” Jang said.
The Jang Keun-suk Bus is set to operate for one month in Seoul’s Gangam and Myeong-dong districts.

한류스타 장근석(25)이 일본 팬들로부터 데뷔 20주년을 맞아 ‘장근석 버스’를 선물 받았다고 홍보사가 26일 밝혔다.
지난 1992년 아역 광고모델로 데뷔한 장근석은 올해 데뷔 20주년을 맞았다. 이에 일본 팬들은 장근석의 사진과 함께 그의 데뷔 20주년을 축하하는 메시지가 담긴 버스를 십시일반 마련했다.
이들은 또한 버스에 “대한민국 여러분, 지난 일본 대지진 때 주신 많은 지원으로 저희는 조금씩 힘을 되찾고 있습니다”라며 “진심으로 감사의 마음을 보냅니다”라고 적어 지난해 동일본 대지진 당시 복구를 지원한 한국인에 대해 감사의 뜻도 전했다.
‘장근석 버스’는 앞으로 1개월 동안 서울 강남과 명동 일대를 운행할 예정이다.
한편, 장근석은 “20년이라는 시간 동안 곁에서 진심으로 응원해 준 팬들의 연이은 이벤트와 큰 사랑 덕에 추위를 잊고 있을 정도로 마음이 따뜻하다”고 화답했다.
