A Belgian man said he recently learned that his wife was actually a transgender woman.

The 64-year-old husband, identified only as Jan, told a local newspaper that he learned the news after 19 years of marriage when a cousin from his wife’s Indonesian family finally confessed the truth.

Belgian daily newspaper Nieuwsblad reported that Jan described his wife as “very beautiful and feminine.”

“I thought she was an attractive woman, and she was all woman -- she had no male traits. She was always a good mother to my children, and also a fantastic cook, though she wasn’t that great at cleaning and ironing -- and now I know why,” said Jan to the daily paper.

After a judge refused to grant Jan an eviction order of his wife, he said that he is still living with her, although the two rarely speak to each other.

그는 또, “그녀가 매력적인 여성이며 남성적인 부분은 전혀 없었다고 생각했다. 그녀는 언제나 내 아이들에게 좋은 어머니였고, 요리도 잘했다. 그러나 청소와 다림질에는 서툴렀는데 이제는 왜 그랬는지 알 것 같다”고 말했다.

최근 신청한 아내에 대한 퇴거명령을 지방 판사가 기각해 잰은 여전히 아내와 함께 살고있지만 부부로서 전혀 대화를 나누지 않고 있다고 그는 밝혔다. (코리아헤럴드)
