Saenuri Party presidential candidate Rep. Park Geun-hye on Wednesday promised that the third child in a family would not have to pay for college education.

Park unveiled her policy platform catering to women in a press conference on Wednesday at the party’s headquarters in Yeouido in Seoul.

“The knowledge-based society of 21st century is an era in which how women’s potential is utilized will determine the competitive edge of the nation,” Park told reporters. “I will create a society where women are worked and judged equally as men.”

The three key strains of Park’s policy bundle were fighting discrimination against women and creating an environment friendly to child-rearing and non-traditional families.

A significant portion of her policies was directed at pregnancy and child-raising. Park pledged government assistance in the purchase of milk powder and diapers for low-income families, expansion of obstetric clinics in rural areas, and increase of day care assistance.

In order to encourage child birth, Park pledged that the third child in a family would receive full government assistance in college tuition regardless of family income level. Park also promised to increase government support for single-parent families.
