A smartphone produced by Samsung Electronics Co. and household appliances made by LG Electronics Inc. have been chosen as the best products of the year by an authoritative U.S. magazine, industry sources said Wednesday.
Consumer Reports gave the South Korean tech giant’s Galaxy S3 smartphone the highest marks out of similar products tested.
Samsung’s two-door refrigerator and 32-inch and 60-inch liquid crystal display TVs and 60- to 64-inch plasma display panel TVs also received the highest rankings, according to the sources.
The monthly magazine that publishes reviews and comparisons of products and services that can benefit consumers also named LG’s 46- to 51-inch and 40- to 43-inch LCD TVs, French-door refrigerator, drum-equipped and top-loading washing machines and clothes dryer as the best products of the year.
The home appliance giant’s washing machines received “excellent” ratings for energy efficiency and water consumption earlier in the year, while its vacuum cleaners also topped the list in terms of performance. (Yonhap News)
