He contributed to the expansion of HP’s market share in South Korea and $100 million sales in PCs while he served as an executive at the company’s Printing Personal System Group.

At Lenovo, Kang will be in charge of establishing sales strategies as well as developing customer management policies and developing distribution channels.

“I am happy to encounter new opportunities and challenges at Lenovo, the fastest-growing PC maker in the world. I expect that Korea Lenovo will be able to reach new goals in the PC-plus era,” said Kang through a statement.

Park Chi-man, the former chief of Lenovo Korea, quit the post on Oct. 12.
