The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority has selected 40 restaurants and cafs in Songdo International City that will be able to accept dollars and euros as part of its efforts to improve living conditions for foreign residents.

The selected locations would also accept foreign credit cards.

Since September, the establishments have put certification marks on their buildings and have been promoted via the Global Service Center website and guidebooks so that people can find them more easily.

Establishments that wish to install a certification mark need to call the IFEZ Global Service Center on (032) 260-0792 and go through a simple registration process.

The IFEZA said that it also plans to provide standardized English menus in restaurants where foreign customers frequent so that they would not be inconvenienced.

In addition to accepting currency, the IFEZ Global Service Center has been promoting many services for foreigners, such as providing translation guide services around Incheon University station for over a year. Starting this July, the Global Service Center also provided English education to subway employees.
