Seoul Literary Society is inviting its members to an evening with Korean novelist Kim Young-ha on Sept. 17.

The author of “I Have the Right to Destroy Myself” will make a presentation before taking questions from the audience at Scandinavian Design House in Apujeong in Seoul. The event, to begin at 6 p.m., will also include a reception of Swedish food.

Kim is one Korea’s most famous writers, and his works have been translated into 15 languages. “Whatever Happened to the Man Stuck in the Elevator?” a collection of Kim’s short stories, was recently published in Swedish.

Seoul Literary Society was founded by former Swedish Ambassador Lars Vargo in 2006 as a way to appreciate and promote Korean literature to a wider audience. Swedish Ambassador Lars Danielsson is the group’s current president.
