Former LPGA Tour golfer Park Ji-eun, who announced her retirement from golf in June this year, will tie the knot in November.

The 33-year-old, also known as Grace Park, told reporters Monday afternoon that she would marry Kim Hak-soo, a 37-year-old businessman and elementary schoolmate, on Nov. 27.

“Kim and I go back a long time to elementary school,” Park said.

Park is one of a handful of golfers along with Pak Se-ri, 35, and Kim Mi-hyun, 35, who led the rise of Korean women golfers on the international stage.

Park became a member of the LPGA Tour in 2000 and won six LPGA Tour events, including the 2004 Kraft Nabisco Championship.

But she announced retirement from golf in June this year after years of poor performances due to injuries of her hip joints and waist.

“I have feelings left for golf as I didn’t play well because of injuries, but I will think about my future after we get married,” she said. “I thank my fans for still supporting me through Facebook. I would be grateful to everyone for showing a consistent interest in Korean women golfers.”
