A Columbus, Ohio, teen was hospitalized after collapsing at the end a four-day binge of playing the video game “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare,” reports said.

Tyler Rigsby, 15, stayed in his room with his Xbox from Saturday until Tuesday morning, taking breaks only for naps, snacks and to use the bathroom, then he visited his aunt‘s house with his mother and collapsed twice, the Columbus, Ohio, Dispatch reported Wednesday.

“He was very pale,” said his mother, Jessie Rawlins. “He said, ’Mom, I just need to go home and get some sleep‘.”

Rigsby collapsed a third time outside the home, and 911 was called. He was hydrated by paramedics and taken to Ohio State Medical Center, where he was released several hours later, the newspaper said, noting that when he returned home, Rigsby unplugged his Xbox. (UPI)

미국 오하이오 주 콜럼버스 시의 한 10대 소년이 나흘간 계속 비디오게임을 하다 쓰러져 병원 신세를 지게 됐다.

오하이오 주 일간지 디스패치에 따르면, 열다섯살인 타일러 릭스비 군은 지난 토요일부터 화요일까지 간식을 먹거나 화장실을 가는 잠깐을 제외하고 계속해서 자신의 방에서 콘솔 게임기인 ‘엑스박스’의 게임 타이틀 ‘콜오브듀티 모던워페어’를 했고, 이후 어머니와 함께 방문한 친적집에서 두 번이나 정신을 잃었다.

디스패치는 릭스비 군의 어머니인 제시 롤린스가 “아이가 심하게 창백한 얼굴로 ‘집에 가서 쉬고 싶다’고 말했다”고 보도했다.

릭스비 군은 친척집에서 나서자 마자 세 번째로 정신을 잃었고, 결국 구조대에 의해 오하이오 주립 메디컬 센터로 후송되었다.

그는 병원에서 수 시간에 걸쳐 치료를 받은 후 퇴원해 게임을 멀리하고 안정을 되찾은 것으로 알려졌다.
