LG Electronics released its new all-in-one personal computer on Monday to meet the rising demand for the category in the local market.

Dubbed the “V720 Series,” the all-in-one computer ― which plays the role of PC, small-size 3-D television and monitor ― comes with a separate remote control for the TV, its officials said.

The product enables people to watch TV with a remote control without booting up the computer, said LG officials. They can also use the “picture in picture” function to watch TV while they are using the computer at the same time.

According to LG officials, the local market for all-in-one computers is on the rise, numbering up to 70,000 units in sales in the first quarter, sharply up from 80,000 units in all of 2011.

The new V720 Series is equipped with Intel’s third-generation Core i5 processor for improved multi-tasking and Nvidia’s GeForce GT640M graphic card for 3-D experience.

Going a step further, it has applied the company’s proprietary “In-Plane Switching” screen technology to offer natural colors on its display as well as a wider viewing angle, said company officials.

The new V720 Series comes with a 68.5-centimeter full high-definition light-emitting diode display and is priced between 1.79 million won and 2.19 million won ($1,560-$1,900).
