South Korean Olympic archers departed for London for the 2012 Summer Olympics Thursday in good spirits, with male marksmen having shot an unofficial world record score twice in their recent practice.

The male trio of Oh Jin-hyek, Im Dong-hyun and Kim Bub-min twice scored 235 points out of possible 240 in their team event practice on Wednesday, officials said before archers boarded their London-bound flight at Incheon International Airport.

The official world record of 233 was set last year by Oh, Im, and former national team member Kim Woo-jin.

In the Olympic team event, the three archers each shoot two arrows per end, an equivalent of a set, for six arrows per team in each end. They compete in four ends for 24 arrows in total. (Yonhap News)
