Samsung Network Services and Solutions said Wednesday that it won the top position for information and telecommunications construction capabilities, such as building Long Term Evolution and home networks, for the 11th consecutive year.

In an evaluation performed by the Korea Information and Communication Contractors’ Association, an affiliate of state telecom regulator Korea Communications Commission, Samsung SNS scored the highest amount ― 278.1 billion won in total ― among 7,023 firms.

The association’s annual evaluation converts a firm’s construction capabilities’ value into Korean won by considering the company’s total capital and technologies in possession.

Samsung SNS has been participating in the establishment of LTE networks for all the country’s three telecoms ― SK Telecom, KT and LG Uplus ― on a nationwide scale, according to its officials.

“We will not stay satisfied with the current result, but strive to become the global best through technology development in telecommunications infrastructure and service innovation,” said a Samsung SNS official.

Samsung SNS, a company which changed its name from Seoul Commtech earlier this year, was established in 1993 and focuses on building wireless infrastructure systems and home networks.

Amid the country’s rapid set-up of fourth-generation communication LTE networks, the company has been engaging in cell planning, which decides the boundary of electric waves, the height of base stations and the level of radio waves for more efficiency, said Samsung SNS officials.
