Legislation officials from 15 countries, including China, Japan, Ukraine, Malaysia and Sri Lanka, will gather in Korea for the 2nd Asian Forum of Legislative Information Affairs scheduled from June 27-29 at KINTEX in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province.

The Ministry of Government Legislation, which is hosting the annual forum for Asian lawmakers, announced on Monday that more than 2,000 officials are expected to participate in the event.

During the three-day forum, the participants will discuss ways to increase exchanges of legislative information among Asian countries, as well as future cooperation in response to economic and social developments, according to the ministry.

Main discussion topics include how legislative sharing contributes to economical and social developments, developing multi-cultural societies and also supporting small and medium-sized enterprises.

Minister of Government Legislation Jeong Sun-tae said the government is aiming to establish itself as a “connecting hub” for legislative sharing among Asian countries.
