Chadwick International School has appointed David Maher, academic dean of a U.S. secondary school, as the inaugural principal of its high school.

Maher is academic dean of the Fountain Valley School of Colorado and also an academic director at World Leadership School, which facilitates global immersion education programs for U.S. students in developing countries.

He will oversee the high school program of Chadwick International Upper School slated to begin this fall semester.

“It is a tremendous honor to be given the opportunity to work alongside such a talented faculty in such a vibrant community, and I’m sincerely looking forward to getting started,” Maher said.

“I also believe globalization and the transformation of the world community is far-reaching and irreversible and that it is up to the educators to prepare students to succeed in a world that is very different from the past,” he added.

Maher, an educator of more than 25 years, graduated from James Madison University in the U.S. with a bachelor in economics and a master’s degree in education.

Chadwick International School opened in the Songdo International Business District in Incheon in September 2010. It offers kindergarten, elementary and middle school courses to Korean students and international students from neighboring countries.
