YEONGAM, South Korea (AP) _ McLaren driver Jenson Button set the fastest time in Saturday's pre-qualifying practice session for the Korean Grand Prix, indicating Red Bull's remarkable sequence of pole positions this season could come to an end.
Button's lap of 1 minute, 36.910 seconds was 0.289 seconds faster than teammate Lewis Hamilton, meaning McLaren had topped the timesheets in all three practice sessions, at what is the team's 700th Grand Prix.
Red Bull has taken pole in all 15 races this season _ 12 for Sebastian Vettel and three for teammate Mark Webber.
Webber was third fastest in the Saturday morning sesssion, eight tenths of a second off Button's time, while Vettel _who clinched his second straight F1 drivers championship at last weekend's Japanese GP _had a frustrating session and was almost three seconds slower than Button in ninth place.
After Friday's rain-drenched practice, drivers had their first chance to use the dry-weather tires ahead of qualifying.
Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso, who won the inaugural Korean GP last year, was fourth followed by teammate Felipe Massa.
Mercedes' Michael Schumacher was sixth ahead of Renault's Vitaly Petrov and Force India's Adrian Sutil. Mercedes' Nico Rosberg was 10th fastest, behind Vettel.

'영국 신사' 젠슨 버튼(맥라렌)이 포뮬러 원(F1) 코리아 그랑프리 3차 연습 주행에서 가장 좋은 성적을 기록했다.
버튼은 15일 전남 영암의 코리아 인터내셔널 서킷에서 열린 3차 연습 주행에서 5.615㎞의 서킷 한 바퀴를 1분36초910에 달려 출전 선수 24명 가운데 가장 빠른 스피드를 냈다.
전날 1,2차 예선에 이어 이날 오전 11시부터 시작된 3차 예선은 1시간 동안 서킷을 달려 가장 좋은 한 바퀴 기록을 자기 기록으로 삼게 된다.
연습 주행 기록은 예선 및 결선에 영향을 주지 않으며 서킷을 몇 바퀴 달릴 것 인지는 선수가 자유롭게 결정할 수 있다.
2차 연습 주행에서 1위를 기록한 루이스 해밀턴(영국·맥라렌)이 1분37초199로 2위에 올랐다.
맥라렌은 2차 연습 주행에서 해밀턴-버튼이 1,2위를 나눠 가진 데 이어 3차 연 습 주행에서는 버튼과 해밀턴이 자리바꿈을 하며 역시 1,2위를 휩쓸어 이번 대회 좋 은 성적을 기대하게 했다.
제바스티안 페텔(독일·레드불)은 1분39초695로 9위, 미하엘 슈마허(독일·메르 세데스)는 1분39초559로 6위를 기록했다.
연습 주행을 마친 F1 코리아 그랑프리는 이날 오후 2시 예선을 거쳐 16일 오후 3시 대망의 결선 레이스로 이어진다.
