Cookware and small home appliance maker Tefal presented its brand new coating and base technology for frying pans in Seoul on Wednesday.

From as early as mid-October, all Tefal frying pans will be replaced with the new line named “Tefal Intensium 3D Coating,” the company said.

Even though new products are equipped with intensified ceramic coating and anti-warp base technology, there will be no price change, said Kay Paeng, representative and managing director of Groupe SEB Korea.

The company’s durability tests also found that the new line would last four and a half years, one year longer than existing products.

“The new innovation would strengthen our market dominance. In the end, we hope every household in Korea has at least one Tefal frying pan,” she said during a news conference.

Tefal, a brand of France-based Groupe SEB, leads the Korean frying pan market, with a 40-50 percent market share. In a recent survey by Harris Interactive, a research firm, about 70 percent of Korean housewives said they have owned a Tefal frying pan.
