Yuhan-Kimberly, Korea’s leading hygiene-products maker, has recently announced its new corporate slogan “Smart Work,” which aims to maximize efficiency of workplaces so that employees can better balance work and family life.

“Smart Work” is the latest campaign of the company, which has played a leading role in advancing the corporate culture in Korea since establishment in 1970.

Under the slogan, the company offers employees more flexible working time and space that is based on information and communications technology, it said.

After introducing a four-team, two-shift schedule at factories and delayed working hours among office workers, the company will expand flex-time systems that allow employees to work from home or on selective days.

To allow workers to choose more convenient workplaces, the company has already established two “smart work” centers in Gyeonggi Province.

By allowing all employees, including executive officials, to choose where to sit within the smart offices, the company hopes to create a working environment in which all workers better communicate.

The company has also stepped up efforts to provide better infrastructure to increase work efficiency of individual workers.

The company has set up the mobile work system that enables working from home and online authorization. It also supported workers’ purchase of tablet PCs in July this year.

The flexible working system is also helpful to better protect the environment, the company added, as it has reduced commuting distance of workers and enabled paperless work.
