The Unification Ministry named actor Jeong Jun-ho, movie director Kwak Kyoungtaek, singer Lee Seung-chul and actress Lee Yu-ri as its goodwill
ambassadors Monday.
The ministry said that they renewed the service of Jeong, a publicity ambassador since 2009, in recognition of his activities and that it added three more celebrities to boost its promotional drive to raise public awareness of unification issues.
The four goodwill ambassadors began their work by attending the launch of a peace march event Tuesday, in which teenagers and young defectors trek along historic sites related to national security and unification. “We hope that their friendly image will help increase the public interest in unification,” a ministry official said.
