The Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs announced Thursday that Volvo Cars Korea is recalling the S60 and XC90.

The recall applies to 182 S60 vehicles produced between June 22, 2010 and May 18, 2011 that have faulty fuel pump controlling software that could cause the engine to be switched off while driving.

Further six S60 vehicles produced between Jan. 20, 2010 and Jan. 28, 2011 found to have faulty connection in the fuel supply system that could lead to fuel leakage exposing the vehicle to risk of power loss and fire while moving.

The XC90 vehicles subjected to recall are four vehicles produced between Jan. 29, 2010 and Aug. 16, 2010. The vehicles were found to have faults in the power steering system that could result in loss of steering control, the ministry said.

The company will repair the faults free of charge from Friday at designated service centers. In addition, Volvo Cars Korea will compensate owners of relevant vehicles who have had the problems fixed before the recall order.
