MUNICH (DPA) ― BMW is opening another chapter with open-top premium vehicles in launching the BMW 6 Series in Geneva with advanced chassis technology, more comfort, and numerous infotainment and safety features.

The classic soft-top roof comes in customary “fin” design. According to BMW, the multi-layer roof has been optimized in terms of its acoustic properties and thermal insulation. The upright, heated, glass rear window is positioned directly behind the rear seats and can be lowered separately from the roof.

The new BMW 6 Series Convertible is available with two engine variants from launch. The eight-cylinder power plant in the BMW 650iConvertible produces 300 kW/407 hp, while an exclusive variant of the six-cylinder in-line engine with BMW Twin Power Turbo, direct injection and VALVETRONIC generates 235 kW/320 hp.

The optional Adaptive Drive system, which includes Dynamic Damper Control and the Dynamic Drive active roll stabilization system, offers the driver even more precise responses. The electronically controlled dampers adapt to both the nature of the road surface and the driver’s style to prevent unwanted movements in the car body. The roll stabilization system reduces factors such as body sway in fast-driven corners and sudden direction changes.
