Donut burger -- a beef patty cloaked in melted cheddar cheese and sandwiched by glazed donuts which surprised many in the United States -- has made its market debut in Korea.

According to industry experts, a local branch of bakery brand Amapola in Seoul on Tueday has started to sell donut burger similar to the Krispy Kreme Cheeseburger previously introduced in the U.S.

Like the donut sandwich in the U.S., the Korean-version of fat-and-calorie bomb will also have sugar glazed donut -- instead of typical burger buns --cheese, beef patty and chocolate-covered bacon slices.

Krispy Kreme Cheeseburger, inspired by an animation series “The Boondock,” gained explosive popularity by web surfers in and out of the United States.

It is not known how much the bakery shop will sell the burger.

31일 외식업계에 따르면 케이크 전문점인 ’아마폴라 델리’ 방배점에서 폭탄버거가 처음 판매될 예정이다.

이 버거는 일반 빵 대신 ’크리스피크림 도넛’을 사용하며, 그 사이에 쇠고기 패티와 치즈, 베이컨, 초콜릿 등을 넣어 1개 열량이 1000칼로리를 넘는 것으로 알려졌다. 

최근 미국의 한 품평회에서 시판돼 인기를 끈 이후 인터넷에 소개되면서 유명세를 타고 있다.
