Tracey Williams and her husband tie the knot dressed in ugly ogres Shrek and Princess Fiona, the Daily Mail reported.

The movie buff bride rejected traditional white gown, painted herself in green, put fake ears and red wig instead.

‘Everyone said I made a lovely Princess Fiona and Viv was the perfect Shrek’, she said

The couple saw the film Shrek on their first date and their friends had teased them that they resembled the characters in film, the report added.

Mr. Williams, 53, said: “Neither of us needed persuading at all. We were both as keen as each other.”

“We watched the films, became addicted and when we decided to get married we both knew how we wanted the wedding to be.”

During the wedding, their friends and family joined the spirit of this particular ritual as well – Tracey’s mother in Fairy Godmother costume and her father in Lord Farquaad.

슈렉 복장으로 결혼

이는 영국 남서부 웨일즈 지방에서 행해지고 있는 평범한 결혼식의 한 장면.

신부와 신랑이 영화 슈렉에 나오는 피오나 공주와 슈렉 복장을 하고 결혼식을 올렸음을 데일리 메일이 전했다.

영화광인 신부 트레이시 윌리엄은 전통적인 백색 웨딩 드레스를 거부, 자신의 몸을 녹색으로 칠하고, 가짜 귀를 붙이고 빨간 가발까지 쓰는 등 피오나 공주를 완벽하게 재현하였다.

“저와 남편이 사랑스러운 피오나 공주와 슈렉를 너무 잘 따라했다고 다들 칭찬했어요”

보도에 따르면 이들 부부는 첫 만남에서 슈렉 영화를 보러갔고 친구들이 자신들과 슈렉 커플이 닮았다며 놀려왔다고 한다.

남편 윌리엄씨는 ‘결혼식에 대해서 서로가 서로를 설득시킬 필요도 없었죠. 이런 결혼식을 둘 다 너무 원했기 때문이죠.”

“영화를 보고 슈렉에 둘 다 푹 빠져버렸기 때문에 결혼식을 올려야 된다고 했을 때 우리 둘다 어떤 결혼식을 원하는 지 말하지 않고도 알 수 있었어요.”

결혼식 동안, 커플의 가족과 친구들 역시 이 결혼식만의 특별한 의식을 행하는 데 한 몫하였다. 신부의 어머니는 슈렉에 등장하는 Fairy godmother(도움이 간절히 필요할 때마다 나타나서 도와주는 인물), 신부의 아버지는 Lord Farquaad(파과드 영주) 복장을 입고 이들의 결혼을 축복해주었다고 한다.
