For the ruling Grand National Party’s mayoral primary, two-term legislator Na Kyung-won will run against incumbent Oh Se-hoon as Na beat rival Rep. Won Hee-ryong in polls yesterday.

Former GNP spokeswoman Na beat three-term lawmaker Won by a small margin in a telephone survey of 1,000 GNP members and 2,000 Seoul citizens.

Won vowed to support Na in the forthcoming primary.

There is a third contender within the GNP -- Rep. Kim Choong-whan -- but the party’s primary for the mayoral seat is likely to be a competition between Oh and Na.

The Seoul mayoral race, slated for June 2 along with all mayoral and gubernatorial elections nationwide, is expected to be a battle between a GNP candidate and Democratic Party’s Han Myeong-sook, a former prime minister who was recently cleared of bribery charges.
