Actress Joey Wong becomes Buddhist nun

A Hong Kong-based Taiwan-born actress Joey Wong has become a Buddhist nun in Vancouver, Canada, according to news reports. Hong Kong newspaper Sing Pao reported that the actress was spotted in a Buddhist temple in the Canadian city. Wong retired from the entertainment business in 2004 and has been spening her time in Canada.
According to Asiaone News, radio host Eileen Cha was quoted by a website, NetEase, as saying in Chinese, "I heard of this from a senior of mine today. This senior is close to Joey, so I think the news isn`t fake."
Cha hinted that the ex-actress` failed affair with media gogul Peter Lam might have led her to become a Buddhist nun, saying, "Actually the story I know is similar to the one everyone saw. The relationship with Peter Lam must have had a big effect on Joey. After all, Peter Lam wasn`t divorced and she became the third party."
Wong announced her retirement from the entertainment business after filming her last movie "Beautiful Shanghai" in 2004.
