By Julie Kim JacksonPublished : Sept. 21, 2017 - 15:37
Standard Chartered Bank Korea, a subsidiary of British banking service Standard Chartered PLC, has launched two new banking cards in partnership with Samsung Card, the company said.
Earlier this month, the two companies unveiled the “Standard Chartered Daily Samsung Card” and the “Standard Chartered Life Samsung Card,” their first collaborative products since signing a comprehensive partnership agreement last year. The two companies have come up with the new lineup by jointly making consistent analysis of life patterns of consumers and consumption trends, the bank said.

The new Daily card is focused on offering everyday benefits for employees. The card offers a five percent discount, within a maximum of 3,000 won a month per category, for charges on public transportation, mobile communication charges, coffee shops and convenience stores.
The companies’ new Life card offers customers benefits focused on everyday life costs. The card includes a five percent discount at stores, open markets, and for charges relating to social commerce, hospital fees, pharmacies and more. Both cards also offer a 0.5 percent discount on the total monthly card usage amount in addition to their daily discount offerings.
The Daily and Life cards have an annual subscription fee of 9,900 won.
