[THE INVESTOR] Klasse Auto, the largest dealer of Audi Volkswagen Korea, on Aug. 2 issued an apology to customers.

“We have disappointed and worried our customers due to the latest Volkswagen scandal, and as an official dealer, we feel it is part of our responsibility to do our best to protect your interests,” Klasse Auto president Lee Byung-han said via the dealer’s homepage.

“We will also do our utmost to offer our clients satisfactory after-sales services,” Lee said.

The apology comes after the Environment Ministry annulled the certification of 80 VW vehicles and banned their sales in Korea for rigging documents to get past government emission and noise level tests.

In 2015, Klasse Auto’s operating profit margin stood at 0.3 percent, and this year, it is expected to bleed into the red.

Audi Volkswagen Korea has seven showrooms in and around Seoul, and five operates service centers in and near Seoul.

Klasse Auto is among the eight dealers working with VW. Audi is sold via eight other dealers.
