Kwanghee of K-pop boy group ZE:A has been selected as the “sixth man” of the cast in the latest episode of the MBC reality program “Infinite Challenge,” one of Korea’s most popular weekly shows.

On the episode that aired on Saturday, Kwanghee beat out other competitors to become the sixth man for the popular show. He went through rigorous interviews and secured the most votes from the current cast members.

For the final round of the competition, Kwanghee competed with Super Junior’s Siwon, actress Hong Jin-kyung, Noel’s Kang Kyun-sung and comedian Jang Dong-min.

Jang, who was widely seen as a strong candidate, withdrew from the race at the last minute after his past remarks disparaging women sparked criticism.

The “sixth man” project aimed at recruiting a new member of the show, started in March after two of its regular members ― rapper Gil and comedian Noh Hong-chul ― dropped out last year over their drunken driving.

Kwanghee will join the show alongside Yoo Jae-suk, Park Myung-soo, Jung Joon-ha, Jung Hyung-don, and HaHa. “Infinite Challenge” airs every Saturday at 6:20 p.m.
