‘슈퍼문’ 현상, 수도원이 섬으로 변해

프랑스 북부의 고성 몽생미셸 수도원에서 슈퍼문을 보려고 많은 사람이 몰렸다.

몽생미셸은 평상시엔 다리와 육지와 연결돼 있지만, 21일 물이 차올라 오면서 이곳으로 가는 길이 물에 잠겼다.

달이 지구에 가깝게 접근하는 슈퍼문 현상과 개기일식이 겹쳐 조수간만의 차가 커졌기 때문이다.

18년 만에 한 번씩 육지에서 섬으로 변하는 이 현상을 보려고 1만여 명의 관광객이 모여들었고, 2033년이 돼야 다시 볼 수 있다고 한다.

미국 국립항공우주국(NASA)은 협정세계표준시(UTC, 옛 GMT) 기준으로 이날 오전 7시 40분부터 오전 11시 50분까지 약 4시간에 걸쳐 일식 현상이 일어났다고 밝혔다.
