MBLAQ’s management agency was criticized by fans of the K-pop boy band for what they claimed was a “lukewarm” response to the sudden cancellation of its concert in Peru.

“They (J. Tune Entertainment) have been quiet for days and now they are saying something about the matter,” a Korean fan wrote on Nate, one of Korea’s largest portal sites.

An official from the agency told OSEN, a Korean entertainment news provider, that “Due to a local promoter’s error, the concert in Peru was abruptly cancelled, which we didn’t know about in advance either.”

According to the official, the local concert manager submitted permission documents to an office in Peru three to four days before the event, which led to its cancellation. Under the local law, papers have to be filed at least ten days prior to the event.

“Since many fans were waiting we tried to at least hold a fan meeting for a chat with the members but admission to the concert itself was restricted so we couldn’t do anything,” the official explained.

MBLAQ’s concert was to be held at Coliseo Eduardo Dibos de San Borja for over 9,000 local fans at 8 p.m. on June 13 as part of its South America tour.

The Peru event planning company will provide compensation for the concert cancellation and further measures are still being discussed, according to the official.

MBLAQ also expressed its disappointment via SNS.

“I couldn’t do anything. I am so outraged that no words can describe how I feel,” G.O wrote on Twitter. “Does anybody know what’s going on in this place? How did we (MBLAQ) end up in a concert that was not thoroughly prepared? For what? This is the most humiliating experience ever since I became a singer,” he added.

MBLAQ is a popular K-pop group in South America, and was named “The Musicians of 2013” by the Mexican newspaper El Universal.
