An EXO-M Kris' fan launched an online petition in support of the idol group's leader Kris who filed a lawsuit Thursday against his agency, demanding his contract be nullified.

The fan opened the petition, seeking more participation and support from other EXO fans on portal site Daum Agora on Thursday. As of 2:00 p.m. on Friday, the petition has attracted 2,078 signatures.

“This kind of lawsuit is not the first SM Entertainment has faced. Is it really a coincidence?” the petitioner wrote.

SM Entertainment, the nation’s largest entertainment agency, has been entangled in a string of lawsuits filed by its artists -- three former members of TVXQ, currently known as JYJ, and Hankyung, a Chinese member of Super Junior in 2009.

“SM Entertainment’s artists have been suffering unfair treatment, so fans should quickly mobilize,” it read.

“This move is not to launch attacks toward SM Entertainment. But I hope we can start by taking small actions such as an online petition, sending faxes (to the company) and staging silent vigils,” the petition further read.

It called for collective action to prevent the recurrence of such situations.

EXO is a popular Korean-Chinese idol group, composed of 12 members. They are divided into two subgroups, EXO-K and EXO-M, aimed at Korean and Chinese fans, respectively.
