The Korea Electronics Show 2012, which will run until Friday, is showcasing a wide array of electronics goods, from next-generation televisions using the organic light-emitting diode display technology to smart home appliances and gadgets.

Under the theme “What IT Will Be,” the 43rd edition of the show, which kicked off on Tuesday, is taking place at the Korea International Exhibition Center, or KINTEX, in Ilsan, Gyeonggi Province.

With 600 companies participating, including Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics as well as small and mid-sized firms, an array of electronics are being displayed on 32,157 square meters of exhibition space.

Samsung Electronics, which received the 2012 KES Innovation Award for its 55-inch OLED TV and premium monitor dubbed SB 970, is featuring the firm’s latest smartphone Galaxy Note 2 and the Galaxy S3, along with the Galaxy Note 10.1 at the show.

The company is also presenting various high-tech semiconductor solutions and products such as the SSD 840 Series.

LG Electronics is also showcasing its upcoming 55-inch OLED TV with White OLED technology ― different from Samsung’s RGB technology ― as well as its 84-inch ultra-definition 3-D TV and its latest lineup of smartphones, including the Optimus G and Optimus Vu 2.

LG’s home appliances such as its smart washer and Dios V9100 refrigerator are also among the displayed products.

The event is organized by the Korea Electronics Association and hosted by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy and the local Gyeonggi government.
