The Korea International Cooperation Agency and the Korea Development Institute School of Public Policy and Management jointly hosted an international conference on development for African countries in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on Tuesday.

The conference discussed how to enhance the economic development of African countries, as well as successful strategies employed by various African countries including Tanzania, Ghana, Kenya and Egypt. 

Participants included Dean Nam Sang-woo of KDI School, State Minister of Finance and Economic Development Ethiopia Ahmed Shide and Korean Ambassador to Ethiopia Kim Jong-geun.

Speakers from various countries made their presentations via KDI School’s Global Development and Learning Network, a visual teleconferencing system set up specifically to connect and share development experiences around the world.

Nam led an open discussion session after presentations by experts including Berhanu Legesse Ayane, a senior public sector management specialist at the World Bank; Severin Kapinga, an administrative officer in the Prime Minister’s Office of Tanzania; and Francisca Twintoh, an industrial promotion officer at the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Ghana.
