신장 문제인 줄 알고 병원을 찾은 한 남성이 ‘사실은 여자’라는 진단을 받았다는 사실이 밝혀져 화제가 되고 있다.
현재 사진작가로 일하고 있는 스티브 크레셀리우스(Steve Crecelius)는 초음파 결과 남성생식기관과 여성생식기관을 모두 지니고 있다는 사실이 드러났다.
크레셀리우스는 “어렸을 때부터 어머니의 옷이나 화장품에 관심이 많았다”면서 “사람들이 이상하게 생각할 까봐 숨겨왔다”고 말했다.
그는 여성 호르몬 주사를 맞으면서 자신의 여성성을 가꾸기로 결정했다고 한다.
그의 부인과 6명의 자녀들도 이와 같은 변화에 협조적이라고 한다.
