That is, until someone hops in and find out they have to pedal their way at tedious 16 kilometers per hour.

‘The Fahrradi Farfall FFX,’ the world’s most expensive bicycle, looks just like 1 million pound ($1.6 million) Ferrari FXX. But one tiny difference is the absence of the state-of-the-art engine that allows the supercar to zoom away at neck-breaking 400 kilometers per hour.

In place of bulging V12 engines, the latest Formula One technology and hundreds of horsepower, the Fahrradi features skinny wooden wheels, 11 gears and a single manpower.

The ‘super-looking’ bicycle is a product of Austrian artist Hannes Langeder, who spent a year building the bizarre eco-friendly vehicle.

Langeder claims Fahrradi -- which comes from ‘fahrrad,’ a German word for bicycle -- can fly when pedaled by strong enough calves.

The car’s gullwing doors can flap under pedaling, meaning it has a potential to take off under more steam-emitting ferocious legwork. After all it is only 100 kilograms, feather-light compared to most cars.

But the absence of engine, any gas or electric-powered device, does not bring the price down for buyers. The price tag of the Fahrradi is jaw-dropping 1.2 million pounds, a tad more than its ‘twin’ Ferrari FXX.
