Organizers of a women’s conference are inviting teams to compete to win $1,000 or a scholarship to a Korean university.

The 1st World Congress of Global Partnership for Young Women and the 2nd Global Partnership Forum is to be hosted by Duksung Women’s University and Lotte Hotel this Aug. 10-13.

The event will feature speeches and panels as well as eight partnership competitions with prizes. The contests will feature presentations from teams of three people, which may include one man. There will be eight presentation topics for teams to choose from, with a $1,000 prize awarded to the winning team in each topic. One member of the best-performing team overall will receive a full scholarship to Duksung Women’s University and the chance to conduct international volunteer service with financial support.

The eight topics range from themes including women’s advocacy and gender equality, to women’s roles in a variety of fields, including securing world peace.

Participants must be current students aged 19 or older and from a country in Asia or Africa.

Students can apply for backing from the Korea International Student Support Association by submitting an application form, resumes and a 500 word abstract of the team presentation for their chosen topic to welcomekissa@gmail.com by May 18.

The organizing committee will cover transportation, accommodation, and meals for all accepted applicants. For more details on the congress and the competition go to www.unwp.org.
