Around the world on a taxi cab

A trio of Britons traveling the world in a black taxi cab said in New York they have driven more than 51,499 kilometers.

Paul Archer, Leigh Purnell, and Johno Ellison left London in the cab in February 2011 and are currently passing through New York, the Sun reported Monday.

Riding a black cab they named “Hannah,” three friends travelled through four continents and ten different time zones in a bid to break the world record for the longest taxi ride.

When they arrived at the Times Square in New York, Hannah's meter hit $100,000 -- the fare they would have paid for the cab ride.

Their journey has already become the highest taxi trip in history after they drove to Mount Everest base camp last year.

The men said the cab will soon be flown to Tel Aviv, where they will start the final leg of their tour with a planned return to London in May.

The travelers, who have been documenting their trip at itsonthemeter.com, said they hope to raise more than $30,000 for the Red Cross.

아처 일행은 이제 택시와 함께 이스라엘 텔 아비브로 항공편으로 이동할 예정이며 그곳에서 여정의 마지막 부분, 즉 런던으로의 귀환을 시작하게 된다.
