A roller derby in Korea is seeking to recruit more volunteers to help with its events. The ROKD Republic of Korea Roller Derby is looking to “scrimmage” a couple of times a month, having secured private rink space.
But Korea’s first and only roller derby league is looking for Korean and international volunteers to help at events as well as referees and more skaters of all nationalities.
The women’s flat-track skating group meets regularly at Daegu Manchon Inline Skating Rink. The volunteer led ROKD organization aims to promote the international skating sport as well as sportswomanship in a fun environment.
It is inviting experts and novices alike to attend an event at the Daegu skating rink at 1 p.m. this Saturday. Anyone interested in helping out or taking part in practices should email koreaderby@gmail.com or go to rokderbyblog.tumblr.com for more information.
