South Korean K-pop group Girls’ Generation will appear on two popular U.S. TV talk shows, the group’s entertainment agency SM Entertainment said on Wednesday.
The group will appear on the David Letterman show on CBS television on Tuesday next week, the agency said.
The next day, the stars will present “The Boys,” the title song on their third music album released to the world market in December, during their appearance on “Live! With Kelly,” a popular talk show on ABC TV, it said.
“Girls’ Generation, as far as we know, is the first group of South Korean singers ever to appear on a main talk show of a U.S terrestrial channel,” a company official said. (Yonhap News)

그룹 소녀시대가 미국 지상파 TV 토크쇼에 잇따라 출연한다.
25일 소속사 SM엔터테인먼트에 따르면 소녀시대는 오는 31일(이하 현지시간) 미국 CBS TV의 간판 프로그램인 ‘데이비드 레터맨쇼’에 출연한다.
이어 다음 달 1일에는 ABC TV의 인기 토크쇼 ‘라이브 위드 켈리’에 출연해 지난해 12월 전 세계에 동시 발매된 정규 3집 타이틀 곡 ‘더 보이즈’를 선보일 예정이다.
SM은 “‘데이비드 레터맨쇼’는 NBC의 ‘투나잇쇼’, ‘레이트 나이트쇼’와 더불어 미국 3대 토크쇼로 손꼽히며 ‘라이브 위드 켈리’ 역시 동시간대 시청률 1위를 기록중인 인기 프로그램”이라면서 “미국 지상파 TV의 메인 토크쇼에 한국 가수가 출연하는 건 소녀시대가 처음인 걸로 안다”고 전했다.
소녀시대는 앞서 지난 17일 미국에서 ‘더 보이즈’라는 타이틀의 스페셜 앨범을 냈다. (연합뉴스)
