Pop group 2PM will be teaching the Korean language on air in Japan, according to the group’s local agency.
The group will appear on Japan’s public broadcaster NHK from April, hosting a five-minute segment of its popular Korean-language education show. The segment is slated to be titled “2PM’s One-point Korean,” and the members will be mainly teaching useful travel phrases.
The group made its Japanese debut last year, and successfully completed the “Republic of 2PM” Japan Arena Tour. The group held nine shows in six different Japanese cities, including Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya and Fukuoka.
Two of its members, Taecyeon and Chansung, have appeared in a Japanese TV drama as well.
On Wednesday, the group released the local version of its first Japanese studio album, “Republic of 2PM,” online in Korea. The album features three of 2PM’s Japanese singles, with a total of 12 songs, including one of member Junsu’s own compositions.
The boy band in March will release here its new “best of” album, which will feature a selection of songs chosen by fans.
