Expat volunteers from across the globe have shared the spirit of Christmas with Korean children by dressing up as Santa and handing out gifts.

Mannam Volunteer Association brought together volunteers from 13 different countries to spend quality time at Gyeong Dong Won orphanage in Suwon on Saturday.

People from South Africa, Hong Kong, Japan, Ukraine, Russia, Uzbekistan, Canada, Pakistan, England, Indonesia, the U.S. and the Czech Republic joined Korean Mannam members to enjoy the Christmas party with the children.

The international friends delivered donations, cards and gifts all collected at a recent Open Mic Caf, and also gave the children a book full of loving messages they had written for them.

“I can never volunteer by myself in Korea, but through Mannam they made it possible for me to do so,” a volunteer from South Africa said. “I’m really thankful for Mannam. It gathers other people that want to participate and work together.”

Mannam volunteers at Gyeong Dong Won once a month, as well as at SOS Children Village, Cheong Woon Orphanage, House of Hope and Daechong Gyeong Ro.

A Mannam spokeswoman said: “Surely, the expat volunteers always desire to share their love and are able to do so through the volunteer activities of Mannam.”
