The JeongNamJin Group Home in Jangheung county, South Jeolla Province, is accepting Christmas gifts for the children under its care.

The home takes care of 11 children aged 9-17 whose parents have died, were abusive or can no longer provide for them.

John Wurth, who teaches English in Jangheung, volunteers for the home in his spare time and is organizing a Christmas party for the children. This year, he has made a list of each of the kids the home takes care of and the gifts on their wish lists. Gifts they are hoping for include clothes, school supplies, books and CDs.

“Our goal is to give our children as normal a life as possible,” Wurth said. “This is our 2nd year doing this program and we hope you will help to make it a wonderful success for the kids.”

The home and its children can be supported in a variety of ways, including purchasing gifts on the children’s wish lists, making a donation to the JeongNamJin Group Home’s bank account, or buying another item the children at the home may enjoy, such as a PlayStation 3 game or DVD.

For more information, including the list of children, the gifts they’re hoping for and additional ways of contributing, contact Wurth at wurthjt@yahoo.com or (010) 3160-3825. More can also be learned at the JeongNamJin Group Home page on Facebook.
