N. Korean leader's grandson arrives in Bosnia

SARAJEVO, Bosnia-Herzegovina (AP) _ Officials in Bosnia say North Korean leader Kim Jong Il's grandson has arrived in the country to enroll at a private high school made up of international students.

A border police spokeswoman said 16-year-old Kim Han Sol entered the country at Sarajevo airport Wednesday afternoon on a regular flight from Vienna.

He will be the first student from North Korea to attend the United World College's branch in the southern city of Mostar, school spokeswoman Meri Musa said last week. In some nations, a college is equivalent to a high school.

Musa said that Kim Han Sol will be treated like all other students and will be living in a dormitory.

Mostar is 100 kilometers south of Sarajevo and the school, opened in 2006, has 124 students from 34 countries, including Iraq, Israel and the Palestinian territories.

북한 김정일 국방위원장의 손자인 한솔(16)군이 외 국 학생들이 다니는 사립 고등학교에 입학하기 위해 보스니아에 도착했다고 보스니아 관리들이 12일 밝혔다.

사넬라 듀코비치 보스니아 국경 경찰 대변인은 한솔군이 오스트리아 빈에서 출발한 정기 항공편을 이용해 이날 오후2시20분 사라예보 공항에 도착했다고 말했다.

듀코비치 대변인은 김군은 보스니아 입국에 필요한 유효한 여권과 비자를 모두 갖고 있었다고 말했다.

김군은 보스니아 남부 모스타르에 있는 '유나이티드 월드 칼리지 모스타르 분교 (UWCiM)'의 입학 허가를 이미 받은 상태이다.

UWCiM의 메리 무사 대변인은 지난주 김군이 이 학교에 입학하는 첫번째 북한인으로, 다른 학생들과 같은 대우를 받게 되며 기숙사에서 생활하게 된다고 밝힌바 있 다.

모스타르는 사라예보 남쪽 60km 지점에 소재하고 있으며 이 학교는 2006년에 세워졌다. 현재 이스라엘, 이란과 팔레스타인 출신 학생들을 포함, 34개국에서 온 124 명 학생이 재학 중이다.
