Teacher accused of attempted rape on ex-student

A teacher in Incheon is now under investigation for attempting to rape a student from a school where he previously worked.

He is accused of taking the student to a motel in Siheung to sexually assault her last month. Earlier, police said, he went to see a movie with the student and groped her thigh.

“I was out of my mind in that moment. I came round when she started to cry,” the teacher told police.

인천 남동경찰서는 6일 한 때 자신이 교사로 근 무했던 학교의 제자를 성폭행하려한 혐의(아동 청소년성보호에관한법률위반) 등으로 교사 A(51)씨를 붙잡아 조사중이다.

A씨는 지난달 31일 오후 7시께 경기도 시흥시의 한 모텔에서 B(17)양을 성폭행 하려한 혐의를 받고 있다.

또 이날 B양과 영화를 보던 중 허벅지를 만지는 등 강제추행한 혐의를 받고 있 다.

A씨는 경찰에서 “순간 눈에 뭔가 씌었다”며 “나중에 울고 있는 아이를 보니 정 신이 들었다”고 말했다. (연합뉴스)
