Organizers are being sought to help a social enterprise benefiting North Korean refugees.

The Soap for Hope charity makes and sells all-natural soaps and plows the profits back into projects for North Koreans living here.

“The soap project was started by North Koreans and church officials several years ago but they didn’t have a good marketing strategy in place,” said Andrea Maples, one of the expats helping the charity.

Maples wishes to gather volunteers to help sell more of the products around Seoul.

“We want to organize some events, we can sell a lot of soap for a good cause, especially in the run-up to Christmas,” she said.

Anyone interested in helping with the sales events is invited to attend a meeting at TOM N TOMS coffee in central Itaewon at 2 p.m. on Sept. 18. Email soapforhopecharity@hotmail.com for more information.
