Koreans and expats are being sought to help protect the environment on a Korean island.

Volunteers will have the chance to help clean up a tidal flat on Daebu Island on Sept. 24. The conservation day organized by the Korea Marine Environment Management Corporation is to run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Volunteers will meet in Seoul at the KOEM building, near Cheongdam Subway Station exit 6 at 7:50 a.m. before traveling to the island for a class on marine conservation in Korea followed by the costal cleanup.

Seats for the trip are limited and all applications must be made by Sept. 13.
