Kim Hee-chul, a member of pop group Super Junior, is to take a break from his career and serve his military duty starting September.

His agency SM Entertainment announced Monday that Kim would enter the Korea Army Training Center at Nonsan, South Chungcheong Province next month.

After four weeks of basic military training, he is to work as part of the Public Interest Service Personnel, an official from the agency said.

“Because Kim wants to join the army silently, there will be no special ceremony on the day,” he added.

Kim is currently busy with the release of the group’s 5th album, while also participating in TV programs aired by KBS or MBC.
