CJ Construc­tion’s new chief

CJ Group’s construction arm CJ Engineering and Construction Corp. named Kim Chun-hak as its new chief executive and vice president on Tuesday.

Before taking the post, Kim had been working for Samsung Heavy Industries Co. since 1983 and most recently served as the executive vice president in charge of Samsung Heavy’s construction business.

“As the new chief executive is an expert who has worked for 28 years in the field of construction, he will bring significant help in strengthening CJ Construction’s business competitiveness,” the company said.

Kim is a graduate of Yeungnam University in North Gyeongsang Province where he majored in architectural engineering.

Kim has also held the post of vice chairman of the Korea Institute of Building Construction since January 2007.
