The Seoul Arts Center, located under Mount Wumyeon in southern Seoul, said it will resume concerts on Friday, as most of the center has recovered from Wednesday’s landslide at the mountain that killed at least 16.

It had canceled all concerts, exhibitions and cultural programs on Thursday due to the heavy rains and landslide Wednesday.

SAC spokesperson Jeong Da-mi said concerts will resume Friday, with exhibitions resuming either Saturday or Sunday.

“The roads in front of the SAC and most parts of the parking lot have been restored,” she said.

All of the shops including Bauhaus, Puccini Bar and Caf Mozart had been closed as well.

The SAC said it will notify about refunding and rescheduling of performances for those who purchased shows for Wednesday and Thursday.

The National Gugak Center, located near Mount Wumyeon, cancelled performances scheduled through Friday and said it will have talks with show organizers to reschedule them in September.

However, the weekly “Saturday Masterpiece Performance” will be showcased as scheduled, it said.

Because the NGC’s underground switchboard was submerged in rain, its website www.gugak.go.kr had a glitch and it made it difficult for ticket holders to check notices.

The center said it will deliver notifications through its blog at blog.naver.com/gugak1951 and Twitter at @gugak1951.
