Daum Communication is launching a new location service that allows parents to check children’s whereabouts in real time by accessing to its website (childcare.daum.net).
The Daum Childcare service, which operates on SK Telecom’ mobile networks, provides street and aerial views of children’s locations to help parents identify their surroundings easily.
Parents can set a certain area where children frequent as a “safety zone.” Mobile texts are automatically sent to parents whenever children enter or exit the relevant areas.
It also features a call alarm function that sends emergency texts to two designated guardians when a child presses an SOS button for more than two seconds.
To promote the new service, the Internet portal will provide users with free cell phones and carry out a prize lottery for overseas travel until July 28.

특히 고해상도 항공사진인 다음 지도를 기반으로 현재 아이가 있는 위치를 보여주는 것은 물론 360도 파노라마 사진으로 거리를 보는 로드뷰로 아이가 있는 위치와 주변지역까지 한눈에 확인 가능하다는 게 장점이다.
또 아이가 주로 활동하는 지역 한 곳을 중심으로 안심지역을 설정하면 아이가 해당 지역에 진입하거나 이탈할 때마다 보호자의 휴대전화로 문자 메시지가 발송된다.
긴급호출 기능도 있어 아이가 단말기의 SOS 버튼을 2초 이상 누르면 보호자 2명에게 긴급문자가 전송된다.
이용요금은 월 1만4천원으로 현재위치조회 월 100건 무료 제공, 긴급상황 SOS알림 기능, 5개의 지정된 번호에 대해 음성통화(발신은 컬렉트콜) 및 문자수신 등을 이용할 수 있다.
다음은 서비스 개시를 기념, 내달 28일까지 가입 고객에게 단말기를 무료 제공하고 추첨을 통해 300만원 상당의 해외여행 상품권 등을 증정하는 ’아이찾기 가입하고 해외여행 가자!‘ 이벤트도 진행한다.
